Camphor Carving

For many centuries, camphor laurel has been used in making furniture and decorative ornaments in Asia. The tree has cultural significance to Asian peoples and has been used for centuries for scented wood, oil, crystallised camphor blocks used in religious ceremonies and also for its medicinal properties. It is also considered a valuable timber for furniture and carving. They are long-lasting and pest-repelling, also emit a lovely smell that is known for its medicinal properties.
Camphor has a number of fine properties that make it ideal for carving. At SAKYA Art Studio we use the camphor grown on our land. We will teach you how to make amazing crafts by carving objects like hair sticks, pendants and sculptures.
